CHIC Certification

I would like to take a minute and tell you alittle bit about where we are going with our breeding program. When we first started years ago It was the most important thing to me to have a program with ALL Chihuahuas in our breeding program to have a GOOD bite.!!! Then we got alittle more educated and realized it was equally important to have everyone OFA'd for GOOD patellas.. so for years we prided ourselves that we bred only good bites and good patellas.. Well we have been educated even more so.. and realize that there is a bigger picture here !!! haveing proof of a good heart and eyes also complete the big picture.. We realize what an honor it is to have a breeding program full of dogs that are able to to pass not only good patellas but good eyes and hearts and STILL have a good bite to the standard.. What an honor that is .. and how many people can say that about they're breeding program.. sooo we are on a quest to have all of our dogs CHIC'd .. because a goooood friend once told me proof is in the pudding.. and I truelly believe in this..(Friend you know who you are)!! I hope everyone that reads this takes it to heart to try and have your dogs Chic'd as well.. it just proves your breedings are as healthy as can be from head to toe..!I would also like to say the Tampa Bay Chi Club is having the Vet at our Specialty's twice a year to have the testing done.. as long as we have people sign up to have they're dogs tested they will continue to come to our shows.. if people quite signing up then we will not have the testing available.. and it is soooooo affordable.. micro chipping is also available at the testing sites.. you do not have to be a member of the club to take advantage of this testing. nor do you have to have only a chihuahua.. any breed can be tested.. and all breeds should be.... If your not able to make it to the shows then your vet can OFA your dog and Chic your dog.. go to the OFA website and print off the forms required to be filled out by your vet and take it with you to your appointment and mail in to OFA once your vet competes the examination..!! It tends to be alittle more pricey when done in office by your vet than through the club.. but either way is effective..

All dogs have been examined & passed OFA certification as free from patella luxation & congenital cardiac. Any dogs not passing were removed from our breeding program and placed as spay or neutered pets. Luxating patella’s & cardiac issue's can be a problem in most toy breeds.

We are striving for dogs that are correct to the standard, display great temperaments with minimal hereditary defects.

We do NOT breed merles nor chihuahuas from merle lines. We do not breed any other breeds including mixed breeds.

All Deposits made on any puppy or dog from Serenity's Chihuahua's are non refundable.There is no exceptions. If you back out of a sale for any reason you are out the deposit money..
